Lassie, the popular series on television has made the Collie a recognizable breed to many. The Collie is noted for it’s intelligence and deep affection for the family.
Appearance – The Collie descended from dogs used for herding and this trait is still strong in them. Their guarding skills make them excellent family dogs. Some dogs of this breed can be anxious due to its ancestry, however, most are usually hardworking and smart. The Collie is a member of the AKC Herding Group. Weighing 55 to 80 pounds, these dogs can stand 22 to 26 inches tall.

Smoking is the cause of many diseases and kills about four hundred and forty two thousand people every year in the United States. In spite of anti smoking campaigns and billboard warnings, more and more people are joining the bandwagon of smokers every year. Out of the total number of new smokers, ninety percent are children and adolescents, replacing smokers who have quit or died early due to a disease caused by smoking. Smoking is the top cause of preventable and premature deaths, followed by obesity.

Have you been seeing your doctor a little too much lately? Headaches here, chest pains there………..shortness of breath, feeling weak, dizzy, and lethargic.

As I stand and watch the two boys twist, run and shout across the field I realise that their ages are a mystery to me. They could be 12 or 20 in the open fields, flying a large outdoor remote controlled aeroplane screaming: “catch it, catch it”.
Apparently, according to an overview of child well-being in 40 rich countries carried out by Unicef, our children are struggling, in all senses of the word. The UK was placed at number 21 in the league and the Children’s Commissioner for England, Professor Sir Al Aynsley-Green, said: “We are turning out a generation of young people who are unhappy, unhealthy, engaging in risky behaviour, who have poor relationships with their family and their peers, who have low expectations and don’t feel safe.”
