Thanks for the guest post from Sam Thompson!
I honestly have read a million blog posts online about Myrtle Beach, SC and I was never quite convinced. Its just a beach, what could be so great about it? My family decided to visit Myrtle Beach last year, I still remember it like it was yesterday! We have not ever been on a family vacation so this was quite strange and out of the blue we just got up, set our adt security system (much better than worrying all vacation long) and got in the car!
Myrtle Beach is without question one of the most famous vacation spots on the Eastern Shore and with good reason! When entering the Myrtle Beach area it has the look and feel of any other Beach Town USA community however what makes it truly unique is the incredible diversity! From cultural diversity to entertainment diversity, Myrtle Beach does not disappoint!
The layout of Myrtle Beach is rather unique with three different beach areas each with its own complete beach front and attractions! The primary beach area which was often referred to as the North Shore is the cleanest and neatest! I visited some exciting attractions including the Ripley’s Believe it or Not Museum which was very cool! In addition Ripley’s has an awesome “Terror House” which is worth a visit! There are several small amusement parks which are great family fun!
Myrtle Beach does not disappoint with a classic boardwalk on the far end of the North Beach complete with fresh funnel cakes and board walk fries (yum!) If you enjoy more thrilling activities there are plenty of Jet Ski rentals available, we had a blast riding Jet Ski’s as a family! For the daredevils’ there are more extreme sports available such as Para-sailing which looked very fun but my family are a bunch of “chickens”; way too scared to try it!
Overall I would have to say Myrtle Beach did a great job at providing a fun and safe beach trip! There were plenty of great attractions, lots of variety, good seafood and even the classic boardwalk feel!
